Summer Wrap-Up

Summer is the season I dream about all year long. It is the season in which the mountains open up and allow for fast travel. All the goals I have for the year are almost always focused for the warm and prosperous days of summer. The long days allow for ample amount of time outside; sun up till sundown. Reflecting back on the last couple of months has me feeling extremely grateful and fortunate to be able to spend time outside. As the leaves begin to change here in Boulder, I've started to reflect back on my summer. I can't help but get excited for the cool crisp days of Fall. I'm going to keep this one short and sweet. Here is a look back on some of my favorite days of the summer.

Joe Grant on top of Storm Peak looking towards the Keyhole Ridge and the summit of Longs Peak during a trip around the Glacier Gorge.

The La Frêtes des Charmoz leading towards Aiguille De I’M in the foreground. The Grand Charmoz and Aiguille de la République are just a couple of the striking features in the background. Barely scratching the surface of what Chamonix has to offer in the realm of mountain activities.

My favorite alpine scramble; the NE ridge of the Sharkstooth. Always part of the summer repertoire.

Upper Left: A quiet morning on top of the First Flatiron. Remembering Jason Wells. Bottom Left/Right: A couple shots on the LA Freeway taken by Joe Grant. Easily the most memorable day of my summer.

Upper Left: Racking up at the bike racks in Eldo with Tony. Ruper and the Yellow Spur was on the agenda that morning. Lower Left: Catching the sunrise from the top of the First Flatiron. Right: Les Praz Church and the Dru.

Upper Left: The Sky Pond Cirque. Bottom Left: Cordis Hall heading towards the summit of Mt. Yale Right: The Third Flatiron. Open for business.

Looking North along the LA Freeway. Longs Peak standing tall in the background. Nothing beats this alpine playground. Until next year…
